Epiphany’s Mutual Ministry Committee consists of five congregational members appointed by the Congregational Council President, with the advice and consent of the Pastor, for a term of three years. The duties of the Committee include promoting open communication concerning the attitudes and conditions within the congregation; detecting early warnings of misunderstandings within the congregation; serving as a “listening post” for the Pastor, lay professionals, Congregational Council and congregation; resolving conflict; acting as a “sounding board” for the Pastor and lay professionals in times of personal or professional stress; identifying continuing education that would assist the ministry of the Pastor and lay professionals and the goals of the congregation; addressing the concerns for the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the Pastor and lay professionals; and assessing the total ministry of the Church. The Committee regularly meets four times each year (plus follow-up meetings with the Pastor) as well as any additional meetings which may be necessary. The Committee Chairperson or Council Liaison reports regularly to the Congregational Council and communicates any matters requiring Council or congregational action.
